Rwanda’s Salima Mukansanga becomes the first woman to officiate at FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Rwandan referee Salima Mukansanga has been chosen to officiate at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. She is now the first African woman in the history of the World Cup to referee at the men’s FIFA World Cup.

Earlier this year at the African Cup of Nations Tournament in Cameroon, she became the first woman from the African Cup of Nations and the first African woman to referee at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
