Mafi-Kumase Market in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region is flooded after a heavy downpour on Saturday, 26th March, 2022.
African News Broadcast can report that gutters we’re chocked and there is no free flow for the running water when the rain started.
Major parts of the market are flooded including the main market road. Checks by Planners and Developers revealed that improper site planning, indiscriminate dumping of refuse and the inability of the zoomlion to address pertinent issues are the major causes of the flooding.
Many has been displaced and market stalls destroyed as a result of the heavy downpour . They complained that Sanitation officer from the Zoomlion company have not been up to the tasked hence the recent flooding.
