Ghanaian politician and entrepreneur Paa Kwesi Ndoum led a delegation of officials of defunct GN bank to present a petition to the NDC leader John Mahama. While the specifics of the petition were not disclosed, it is presumed that Dr. Ndoum was requesting John Mahama to contemplate reinstating the bank’s more than two hundred branches in Ghana.
GN Bank was fully operational until the Akuffo Addo administration curtailed its services about six years ago. The bank’s collapse was due to its failure to comply with specific regulations mandated by the Bank of Ghana.
GN Bank was one of several indigenous Ghanaian banks that failed to fulfill certain financial commitments to the central bank.
